The Book Place - 1608 Grant Avenue, near 7th Street, Novato

You'll find books in more than 60 categories at unbelievable prices--fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, children's books, collector's items and more.  You'll also find CDs DVDs, and sheet music and puzzles.  Books start at just a quarter.

We're staffed entirely by volunteers. Hassle-free parking is behind the store.

Donations of books are accepted Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, BEHIND the store in our parking lot.  Enter off 7th Street, near corner of Grant Avenue, and look for our roll-up door.  Be sure to consult our Donation Guidelines before packing your donations.  Thank you in advance!

December at The Book Place

 

The days are moving fast, and this will all be over in a heartbeat. Here’s what we’re doing in December:

  • Mystery Hardcovers/Large Paperbacks are on sale. Buy 2 at the regular price ($2) and get a 3rd book FREE. Great way to pick up some favorite authors, or try a new one.

  • Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror is $2 off the regular price (reg. Hardcover $5, large paperback $4). The small paperbacks are just 50¢ each.

Wander through our shop and find some great gifts. Someone donated a beautiful series of 49 first edition replicas, virtually new with slipcases. Some have already been picked up for unique gifts. We offer them at 25% off the lowest internet price found.

We have lots of puzzles which make a great gift for the family. There are all sorts to choose from: landscapes, nostalgic collages, famous paintings, and more. 

Our Gift Table is populated with all types of items at great prices; come see for inspiration. 

The best gift may be a gift card, which invites the recipient to slow down, and "enjoy the browse” in our cozy comfort. These are available in any amount.

Book Donation Info​

 

We are always in need of gently-used materials to keep our selection fresh at The Book Place, our used bookstore in Novato. We accept books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, sheet music and puzzles. However, we ask that you check the Donations Guidelines before packing your donation, as many categories have age limits. We accept donations on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 10am-4pm, in the parking lot behind the store. Look for the large rollup door. We’ll come out to your vehicle and quickly screen your donation, and provide a receipt if you like. If you are donating more than 2-3 bags/boxes, please phone ahead (415-209-0212) to check if we have room to take your donation, or if you have questions about anything you wish to donate.
