The Book Place - 1608 Grant Avenue, near 7th Street, Novato
You'll find books in every category--fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, children's books, collector's items and much more. You'll also find CDs, videos, and audiobooks. Books start at just a quarter. We're staffed entirely by volunteers. Hassle-free parking is behind the store.
Donations of books will be accepted Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, BEHIND the store in our parking lot. Enter off 7th Street, near corner of Grant Avenue. Be sure to consult our Donation Guidelines before packing your donations. Thank you in advance!
Masks are optional; please wear one if you are more comfortable doing so.

The seasons are turning; we can already feel it in the air. It’s time to build your “to read” pile!
We have a mixed bag of categories on sale this month:

Our popular Fiction Wall is on sale. All books in this category are just $2.00 each. We’re loaded with a lot of recent favorites and some tried-and true authors. It’s more than likely there is something there for you to choose and enjoy.

The extremely large Bird section is 50% off. There are beautiful photo collections, field guides and birder how-to’s. You or someone who loves birds can take advantage of a great deal.

For travelers, our Travel section is 50% off. Start planning now for your next vacation, or re-live one you’ve taken. There are travel guides, picture books, and great travel writing for you armchair travelers. Alongside Travel, we have our World Languages collection also 50% off. Learn some key phrases for your trip or take up a new language. We thought they went hand in hand in planning your next trip.
We take Requests - send us an email, we’ll look for the book to save time, or, if it’s a book we don’t have in stock, get on our waitlist, and we’ll let you know when it comes in.
The Book Place is operated by the Friends of the Marin County Free Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization. All proceeds are used for special programs, needs, and materials for the Marin County Free Libraries.
