“We’re WHAT?!?”

Imagine OUR surprise when the Pacific Sun phoned to inform us we were voted Best Used Book Store in their 2024 poll!! We are so excited, grateful, shocked, (and other adjectives), but we’re hoping this will encourage more people to come up to Novato and take a look for themselves. We’re a little biased, but we believe that we are the best deal on books, movies and music donated by a very well-read community.

We corralled just a few of our volunteers (we have more than 50); pictured are (l to r) Marcie Burley, Barbara Madrid, Cynthia Wong, Claire Adams, Edith Stover and Carol Teller.

Come visit us soon!!

February at The Book Place

We’re extending our Half-Price Fiction Sale through February! We sold a lot during January, but generous donations of material throughout the month have kept the level of Fiction constant, so you benefit for another month. Stop in and select a handful of great reads at a $1.50-2.00/book price. It’s a deal you shouldn’t miss.

If U.S. History is your preference, it is also at 50% savings. The selection is loaded with everything from the Revolutionary War, Westward expansion, Civil War, and WWII to the twenty-first century.

Looking for a Valentine gift? A gift card is a wonderful choice, and it gives your sweetie some much-needed browsing time, while it also supports the library! They’re available in any amount.

We take Requests - send us an email, we’ll look for the book to save time, or, if it’s a book we don’t have in stock, get on our waitlist, and we’ll let you know when it comes in.

The Book Place is operated by the Friends of the Marin County Free Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization. All proceeds are used for special programs, needs, and materials for the Marin County Free Libraries.
